A bibliometric-qualitative literature review of green finance gap and future research directions

Green finance (GF) supports the global fight against climate change and its impacts. It is critical to attaining Paris Agreement United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Since GF regarded as future of investment, it needs be fully understood. This paper presents first mixed-methods systematic review with both bibliometric qualitative analysis state-of-the-art trends in research. A was performed quantitatively examine 995 related publications retrieved from Scopus validated Web Science, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect. Results showed that still relatively an immature but interdisciplinary research area. further qualitative-systematic 60 selected conducted identify key findings, challenges, recommendations for Findings revealed six major hotspots GF: (i) green bond market greenium, (ii) credit (loan), (iii) carbon investment market, (iv) banking, (v) stress (e.g. COVID-19 pandemic) GF, (vi) domestic international policies. study provides insights into applications applies specific fields, a pathways realize accruable benefits enhance development.
